Around the end of this year, Emerald will move to a new energy-neutral head office at Parkforum in Eindhoven. With 8,500 m² of warehouse space, 2,000 m² of inspiring showroom and 1,000 m² of office space, we are ready for the future. We look forward to welcoming you in this beautiful building where inspiration and experience are paramount.
Emerald Eternal Green started in 1994 as a one-man business in artificial flowers and plants, which owner Hans van de Kerkhof ran from his garage. Those days are now over. Today more than 30 passionate and dedicated collegeaus make up the Emerald team in Eindhoven. Joël and Chloë van de Kerkhof now also work within Emerald, making it an international family business. To continue this growth, a new location is necessary.
In November, the first ‘symbolic’ shovel went into the ground for the new building, at a strategic location on the Parkforum in Eindhoven. The new location is also close to the Airport, meaning that we will be easy to acces for international and non-international customers. The new building will be completed at the end of 2022.

Our current office just nearby Eindhoven Airport has become to small. That is why we have started constructing a new energy-neutral building of more than 11,000 m2, at Parkforum in Eindhoven. With which we will be able to continue our national and international growth.

In the recent years, Emerald’s growth has taken off and we are still growing. Even more, in these challenging times we are adapting to changing circumstances and creating new opportunities both online and offline. In the last few months, for example, we have introduced virtual tours of our showrooms, we offer more website experiences, and we have started several online design classes.

Looking further back, over the past few years, we’ve built a well-known name and are seen as a real specialist. That’s because “quality” has always been our top priority. We also do as much as we can to stay as authentic as possible to fresh flowers and plants. It’s no coincidence that “re-create nature” is our raison d’étre . And of course we also pay close attention to the latest interior design trends when assembling our seasonal collections.
“Nowadays, artificial flowers and plants are much more appreciated, you can see them everywhere,” says Hans van de Kerkhof, founder of Emerald. “We keep moving forward, looking for new possibilities, adding new items to our product range. But most of all working on our mission by adding a little splash of colour to every day.”

In the next few weeks we would like to tell you more about our brand. More importantly, we’d like to show you why we do what we do. First-up, how Emerald started.
“When I was twenty, I worked as a manager at a Spa, and one day I decided to decorate the building with flowers,” says Hans van de Kerkhof, founder of Emerald Eternal Green. “Obviously real flowers wouldn’t last long in that environment, so I used artificial flowers and plants. The reaction from customers was very pleasant indeed. Everyone appreciated the splashes of color and people often remarked that they made the building feel fresher, more welcoming. It was this experience that inspired me to make these emotions available to as many people as possible. Within two weeks I had quit my job and started my own business – operating from my father-in-law’s garage.” Thirthy-four years later, Emerald Eternal Green is a market-leading international company supplying artificial flowers and plants to customers in more than 40 countries. Today Emerald employs 30 people and has an extensive network of partners and agents.

Growing our customer base
“I always intended to develop Emerald into an international company, in which craftsmanship is a central focus,” says Hans. “So I went abroad to look for new customers. I attended numerous international trade fairs with notable success. We grew and grew, and with each growth spurt we moved into larger offices.” In 1999 the company moved into a newly built headquarters in Eindhoven, just near the airport. It is complete with a breath-taking, dual-level showroom displaying thousands of different flowers and plants. “Although we have grown, we are still a down-to-earth Brabant company, we just happen to deliver to 40 countries,” says Hans. “From Kuwait to Japan, our products can be found everywhere. We supply floristry wholesalers, interior landscapers, DIY stores, garden centers, retail chains and onliners and we are very proud of our large customer base that is growing every day. ”
And it all started in a garage with a dream to give people a splash of color, in their daily lives.

This special time of social distancing is asking for some extra initiatives!
Over the last few days our team has been busy with creating more than 750 bags with a small do-it-yourself flower kit. Created with love for the elderly who are forced to stay at home and cannot meet with their loved ones. With this kit they can create their own flower arrangement in their own home. We hope to bring a little bit of colour and distraction with this small initiative.

Create your own green set-up in a few simple steps! How do you do this? Let us guide you through it.
Stylist tip! Mix as much as you want, combine different types and shapes of green plants together in one setting. This works surprisingly well.
Grab a panel, paint or choose a wallpaper of your own choice. For an extra effect, lay a plate on the ground in exactly the same color and width as the panel. Create some extra depth by placing cabinets behind or in front of your panel. Then put all kinds of plants in different pots. For the finishing touch you can add some style elements and tadaaaa your set-up is ready! Discover it for yourself and watch the video below for a look behind the scenes.
From the 2nd of June we will launch our new Spring-Summer colllection for 2021, Be Different, in our showroom. A collection full of new items divided into 4 trend themes. Do you like pastel or do you prefer pop colors, it is all possible within this collection. Translate 1 of the 4 trend themes on your shop floor or mix and match the items completely in line with your style.
